A future World Cup contender ?1387 viewsThis young lady has had just THREE weeks of lessons (she was taught the Total Contact method) and had the confidence, and ability, to enter this local competition. Great style gave her a place. She was thrilled !

Underneath the top flap of the saddle589 viewsThe top flap of the saddle can be lifted to reveal the stirrup attachment. This attachment is set lower, relatively, to that of a stirrup bar on a traditional English style saddle in order to alleviate pressure on the horse that can occur and may cause injury and/or discomfort.

Underside of the 'Classic' Total Contact saddle588 viewsHere the underside can be seen showing the padded area in the middle of the saddle. This area is usually made of suede though at times we do use a soft leather covering. The ring at the front of the saddle can be used for a handle or a breast plate.

Up and Over !762 viewsCari commented after the XC clinic that "Merlot flew over the jumps" whilst others were pulling up or running out. This was taken one week after she had her Total Contact trial session and buying her new saddle. She felt safe and secure and both she and the horse had a great deal of fun on the XC course - we'd call that a result !

Can you spot what's missing ?1862 viewsTo demonstrate the subtle movement sense the Total Contact saddle gives the horse and rider Mario rode this horse without reins or a bridle - no it's not a specially trained horse. This shot was taken about 30 mins into the session. Note how the lower leg stays in perfect position on the girth and how Mario uses his balance and 'looking' to effect a perfect jump.

Vicki and Flash1099 viewsThis picture was taken during Vicki's saddle trial. She was able to feel Flash relax in the early stages of the trial and he was able to 'listen' to her aids to have a very realxing session for both of them during which she felt safe and secure at all times. This young lady has had Flash since he was a 2 y.o. - he's now 14 - and has trained him to 3* Grand Prix level so she really understands how he needs to be in order to get the best from him. Looks good to us Vicki ! Roll on the next competition eh ....

Cari and Merlot show how to do it !671 viewsHere again one can see how Cari's lower leg stays on the line of the girth across a different type of jump than before. Now more 'fly away' legs for her and a better technical position for them both. This lack of 'fly away leg' is in contrast to that seen in many equestrian mags from jumpers that perform at much higher levels than they do whcih beggars the question .... why don't they use Total Contact ? Someone do them a favour and let them in on the 'secret' please !Jul 31, 2007

Cari and Merlot making progress !774 viewsWith patience and good training Merlot is now jumping better than ever in his Total Contact saddle. Cari is a real convert having recommended many freinds to the system. In this picture just look at how her lower leg stays still, on the girth line, and with a relaxed body they both fly over this jump.Jul 31, 2007

The 'Classic' Total Contact saddle when viewed from above and flat732 viewsThe saddle measures 33.5 inches x 6.5 inches at its widest point. The rounded edge at the top of this picture is placed just behind the highest point of the withers of the horse/pony. This shade of leather is Jet Black but is also available in Havana Brown. The leather used is high grade and from European sources not Asian imports. As can be seen it should not be confused with other 'treeless saddles' in style or effect. This patented design indicates the uniqueness of the Total Contact saddle.May 25, 2007
