Equine Medicinal Forage Walk - Golden Green, 27th May 2018

25.00 30.00

These forage walks are very popular and provide those going on them with:

  • A better understanding of the identification and uses of planty things that can commonly be found in hedge rows and field boundaries that may be beneficial to horses and humans
  • An understanding of how to tell the 'good planty things' from some of the 'bad guys' to avoid
  • Some discussion on how to use what we find for your own culinary purposes

This walk will take us along the river in Golden Green and show what planty things there are in Late Spring. The total walk is about 1 1/2 miles long and stout shoes/boots are recommended as well as a bottle of water or similar. It's a great idea to use a camera phone to take photos of what we find for later reference in your own 'bit of the country'. Well behaved, sociable dogs are welcome and the same goes for children ! There is a good pub close by if you want a beverage and something to eat afterwards.

The cost of this walk will be £25 per person and the group size will be limited so that you get a great experience and chance to discuss aspects of use, identification etc.

The walk will be led by Stuart Attwood, who has a qualification in the use of herbs to medicinally support horses, has led forage walks across England and uses planty things with his own horse and those of others. He also advises the use of planty things with those who also enquire about the design, and use, of equine track systems which have included the RSPCA Horse and Donkey Rescue and others.
